Why Somebody (Me?) Needs To Write A Better Twitterific

It’s been an OK application: A free application with a bit of ads strewn about. I can handle that… but there comes a time when one has to turn to the Pipes and start shouting complaints.

  • For number two, my idea has always been that there should be an option to turn on auto-shortening. With this option on, it should recognize when you are pasting a URL and automatically shorten via tinyurl or whatever choice of shortening service is most convenient for the application to automatically submit and retrieve a shortened URL, and insert that into the post.


    That way, no second screen, the process of posting is just as streamlined it is currently, and you still get to see how many of the 140 you have left as you're typing the post.



    P.S. You can associate images with a post other than by uploading to something like twitpic and including a link? Did not know this... how does it work? I've seen the location based stuff, but this is news to me.
